Environmental Educators of North Carolina will host the 7th Annual EENC Research Symposium on Saturday, September 11, 2021. The Research Symposium is a forum for researchers, including students and teachers, to share recent and on-going action research projects and/or traditional research related to environmental education, including both methods and results. Consider this a place to share not only what researchers are finding, but also problems encountered, lessons learned, and new (and overlooked) methods.
Another goal of the Symposium is to provide a venue for those interested in environmental education research to meet, share ideas, and collaborate. We especially encourage undergraduate and graduate students to submit proposals. The Research Symposium will include traditional 15-minute oral presentations (with 10 minutes for questions), as well as a poster session on Friday, September 10.
EENC is also hosting the annual Southeastern Environmental Education Alliance (SEEA) conference. Proposals from anyone in the southeast are welcome!
Selected presenters will be asked to submit an abstract for inclusion in the conference proceedings. Those participating in the Research Symposium are encouraged to submit general session proposals for the conference as well.
Please note that the research symposium will focus specifically on environmental education action projects and research. For those interested in presenting environmental education-based workshops or lessons without a research component, please submit a proposal for a concurrent session.
If your proposal is selected, all presenters will be required to register for the conference for at least the day of the presentation.
Presenters must register by the Early Bird deadline of July 16 or your session will be removed from the conference.
While EENC is planning for an in-person conference, presenters must be able to present virtually if a pivot to a virtual conference becomes necessary.
EENC has scholarship funding available to help educators attend the conference. Our goal is to award all applicants some level of funding. Learn more about scholarships here.
Submit your proposal using the form below. Proposals are due May 24th. Using a mobile device? Open the form on a separate page here.
