Benefits of membership
EENC is the professional organization for environmental educators in the state. As North Carolina's official affiliate to the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE), EENC offers its members opportunities to network with environmental educators from across the state, the country, and the world.
Mark your calendar! Every year EENC conducts a statewide conference that immerses members in learning about a special eco-region of our state. The 2-3 day agenda is jam-packed with professional workshops, concurrent sessions, keynote speakers, and experiential field trips that cover a range of topics. Throughout the year, EENC’s four sections also offer events including informal get-togethers, behind-the-scenes tours, professional development retreats, and family weekends. Have fun while you learn!
Four seasons…four issues! EE Echoes is EENC’s quarterly newsletter that shares professional development tips and opportunities throughout the year. The EENC web page is an additional resource for information on membership, the annual conference, board nominations, and upcoming environmental education events. Or follow along on Facebook, Instagram, or Linked In!
EENC membership is a great deal! Members participate in the EENC Annual Conference and other events throughout the year at a discounted rate. Section events -- kayaking trips, camping adventures and hikes throughout our beautiful state -- are often offered for free to members.
EENC is an all-volunteer organization run by environmental educators for environmental educators. EENC invites input! EENC encourages members to have "ownership" of their professional organization by serving on EENC's Board of Directors, or one of 6 standing committees: Communications, Education, Membership, Partnership, Policy, and Resource Development.

We offer several different membership options, including individual and organizational memberships. You can view all membership options on our Join EENC page.
