The BEETLES (Better Environmental Education, Teaching, Learning, and Expertise Sharing) Professional Learning Sessions guide educators to reflect on their own teaching and learning while incorporating best practices from contemporary pedagogy research. Developed by the Lawrence Hall of Science, these hands-on and interactive sessions promote a student-centered approach to help learners better engage with science and the natural world through inquiry and curiosity. This workshop will focus on the "Teaching and Learning" session with the opportunity to evaluate a program/activity of your own (or one can be provided) so you can apply what you're learning to your own work.

Format: This workshop will be hosted in person as our pre-conference workshop at Walnut Creek Wetlands Park in Raleigh. Conference registration is not required to attend this workshp.

Other Information: This workshop will include time outdoors, so please dress for the weather. You will need to bring your own lunch, snacks, and beverages.
COVID Safety Requirements: This workshop will take place primarily indoors. Masks are not currently required at this location. We will be following the most up-to-date safety guidelines recommended by the CDC based on Community Levels. As things are constantly changing, you will hear from the facilitator about any specific requirements as the date approaches.
