The Guidelines for Excellence is a series of materials to help environmental educators hone their practice and programs to national standards for high-quality EE programming.  This workshop will focus on the Community Engagement Guidelines publication.

As the newest publication, the Community Engagement: Guidelines for Excellence focuses on community wellness and is designed to help environmental educators create inclusive environments that support effective partnerships and collaborations.  It was created by environmental educators, for environmental educators who want to work in partnership with communities to strengthen the underpinnings of well-being—environmental quality, social equity, shared prosperity, and the capacity to pursue these goals together.

We’ll work through strategies to define your community, identify new individuals/organizations, strengthen relationships with existing partners, and reach beyond the “usual suspects” to make new connections. The goals are to help you identify the organizations and individuals and build relationships help achieve your goals for student learning.

Facilitator: Michelle Pearce

Format: In-person.

Counts for 7 hours of Criteria I or continuing education credit for the NC DEQ EE Certificate.
