About the Facilitators: Jenna Kesgen and Andrew Dundas
Jenna Kesgen is Creative Education Coordinator at the North Carolina Arboretum and has written, filmed and edited many videos for the ecoEXPLORE program. She received her master’s degree in environmental education at Southern Oregon University, and spent three years as a middle school science teacher in Buncombe County, NC before working for the Arboretum. She is currently earning her Digital Media Certification from AB Technical College.
Andrew Dundas is a Creative Environmental Education Specialist at the North Carolina Arboretum and a recent graduate from the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media. His studies focused on visual communication, including the production of videos, websites and informational graphics. He has produced short documentaries and a growing number of educational videos.
Suggested Pre Session Work: Please come to the workshop with a project in mind. After each section of the workshop you will have time to reflect on the new information and apply it to your project.
Logistics: This workshop will be held on Zoom and is eligible for 2 hours of Criteria III/Continuing Ed for the NC EE Certification.
21st Century EE Skills is a series of short workshops (2hours each) to help educators build the "other duties as assigned" that have now become integral to their jobs either as professional educators or program managers. These workshops go beyond an informational webinar, offering interactive, in-depth explorations of a single topic. This workshop series will be held by the Environmental Educators of North Carolina (EENC) in partnership with the North Carolina Association for Environmental Education Centers (NCAEEC).
