If you're ready to help move your organization beyond diversity to equity, join Marsha Davis for this 6-hour virtual workshop.  Interactive conversations and reflective prompts will blend evidence-based best practices with the consultant's expertise as an activist, organizer and agent for change to help you develop a plan to help move your work from theory to practice to prepare your organization for an equitable future. 

About the Facilitator: Marsha Davis
Marsha Davis (she/hers) is the founder of Davis Squared Consulting.  With over 15 years of experience as an educator, facilitator and consultant, Marsha supports her clients in building values-driven strategies that enhance the resilience of our communities. She specializes in co-creating brave productive spaces for hard conversations. Marsha is a Haitian-American, Black, queer woman from Queens, NY. She graduated from Harvard University with a BA in Molecular and Cellular Biology and holds a Masters in Science Education.

Who should attend:
This workshop is designed for those with some measure of decision-making power within their workplaces - whether your sphere of influence extends through one educational program, a whole education department, or an entire facility. 

Building on previous learning and lived experiences, all participants should come into this workshop already comfortable with using words such as systemic racism, white supremacy, justice, equity, power and privilege, in a conversation.

Logistics:

  • November 19, 10 am - 4 pm
  • The workshop will be held virtually through Zoom.  You will need to log in through a computer to view shared screens during the live calls. We strongly encourage you to use video during these live conversations if you have that capability, but at a minimum, you are expected to participate in audio and chat conversations.  If you're accessing through a computer that doesn't have a microphone, follow these directions from Zoom to use your phone for audio: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362663-Joining-a-meeting-by-phone.
  • This workshop will be eligible for Criteria III/Continuing Ed for the NC EE Certification.

Registration for this workshop may be canceled up until 7 days before the official start date for a full refund, minus a $15 cancellation fee, by emailing director@eenc.org. No refunds will be offered for cancellations after November 12.
