NC Stream Watch: Assessing stream health through visual observations (EENC Webinar)

  • Thu, October 21, 2021
  • 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Would you say North Carolina has an abundance of clean water? We see rivers and streams from our mountains to our coast, but how healthy is it? What can you learn about the stream in your community just by looking around? This webinar will talk about the various features of North Carolina's River Basins and visual assessments you can do to educate yourself about the stream. NC Stream Watch is an excellent, stress free tool that can help you inspire a love for your stream with your students, family, or even yourself! The best part is that you can also see images of streams and rivers all over the state to learn about the diversity of our surface water here in NC!

Presenter: Lauren Daniel
Lauren Daniel coordinates Water Education Programs through the NC Division of Water Resources. She loves learning about water resource management and inspiring teachers to incorporate water education across their curriculum. Lauren's favorite thing to do is to look for macroinvertebrates and teach others about the features of NC water.
