Presenter: Mary MeyerMary Meyer is the Elementary Environmental Education Consultant for UNC-IE’s Center for Public Engagement with Science, where she implements professional development programs for teachers to increase the use of their schoolyard and nearby parks. Prior to joining UNC-IE, Meyer worked for a variety of informal education centers including the Columbus Zoo, Brookgreen Gardens, and the U.S. National Whitewater Center. In those positions she wrote and taught standards-based environmental education curriculum for grades PreK-12. Meyer is a Certified Interpretive Trainer through the National Association for Interpretation as well as a facilitator for Project Learning Tree and Project WET workshops. She is also on the board of directors for the Environmental Educators of North Carolina (EENC) as the Piedmont Chair and received EENC’s Outstanding Service Award in 2020.
