EENC Webinar - Why is Recycling So Confusing?

  • Wed, December 09, 2020
  • 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

If you have found yourself asking questions like, "Why is this item recyclable, but not that one? Why is this item accepted in my recycling program, but not others? Why do the rules change? Are items I put in the bin actually getting recycled?" then this webinar is for you! This presentation will provide attendees with answers to all of the above questions while providing a foundation of knowledge about recycling. Attendees will also learn about where to find reliable data and answers, along with educational resources. Build your own knowledge so you can better teach others!

Presenter: Shannon Culpepper
Shannon Culpepper, MPA, is the Recycling & Education Specialists with Chatham County Solid Waste & Recycling. She has over 10 years of solid waste and environmental education experience. She also created a new solid waste curriculum guide for educators that will soon be expanding through the southeast called Don't Waste It!

About the EENC Webinar Series
Thanks to our amazing donors this spring, EENC is launching a fall webinar series to help environmental educators continue to build skills during the COVID pandemic. Throughout the series, we hope to cover a wide range of topics. Webinars may focus on lesson plans, curricula development, technology and virtual learning, naturalist skills/knowledge, educator self-care or environmental education operations such as communications, strategic planning for your program/department, risk management, or equity and inclusion.

Webinar registration is free and open to anyone to attend, but is limited to 100 participants. Click here to register.

Webinar will qualify for Criteria III and continuing education for NC DEQ EE Certificate.

A recording of the webinar will be sent to attendees afterward.  It will also be posted on EENC's members-only page - so if you're an EENC member and not able to attend during the scheduled time, no need to register!
