EENC Webinar - Inclusion 101

  • Wed, November 04, 2020
  • 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Have you identified that inclusion is something your organization wants to stand for but don't know how or where to start? Join Menne for a crash course in how to get started, where to look, and small changes you can institute NOW without getting overwhelmed. Whether you work exclusively outside or inside, there are numerous ways to welcome all people to learn!

Presenter: Katy Menne
Katy earned her BA in History and Masters in Teaching Secondary Social Studies at the University of South Carolina. Since 2011 she has been teaching in formal and informal settings and joined the staff at NC Maritime Museum at Southport in 2018 as the Curator of Education. She has taught thousands of children and started inclusion and diversity initiatives to bring all people into the museum to learn about maritime history and culture. In addition to her job duties at the museum, she also serves on the Planning Committee Member for Able Buddies, Special Needs Community of Pender and Onslow County, Brunswick County Local Interagency Coordinating Council, EENC's Diversity Equity and Inclusion Action Team, Southeastern Museum Conference's Equity and Inclusion Action Team, North Carolina Museums Council Programs Committee, and Community in Schools Board of Young Professionals.

About the EENC Webinar Series
Thanks to our amazing donors this spring, EENC is launching a fall webinar series to help environmental educators continue to build skills during the COVID pandemic. Throughout the series, we hope to cover a wide range of topics. Webinars may focus on lesson plans, curricula development, technology and virtual learning, naturalist skills/knowledge, educator self-care or environmental education operations such as communications, strategic planning for your program/department, risk management, or equity and inclusion.

Webinar registration is free and open to anyone to attend, but is limited to 100 participants.

Webinar will qualify for Criteria III and continuing education for NC DEQ EE Certificate.

A recording of the webinar will be sent to attendees afterward.  It will also be posted on EENC's members-only page - so if you're an EENC member and not able to attend during the scheduled time, no need to register!
